The unconditional love of God has been spread abroad to all who are willing to receive from the Lord. God doesn’t limit His love to a few but rather has opened His heart and love for all to receive and enjoy. However not many of us know how to love God back. It’s almost a one way street. God gives us His love but we struggle in Loving God.
I have seen couples with relationships where only one party is really into it. The wife will do all the hard work that makes a relationship tick while the husband follows through on autopilot. In some cases, the wife refuses to reciprocate love in the relationship so the husband has to endure being ignored, abused or simply go with unmet needs.
We must learn to love the Lord back and grow in loving Jesus. Like any love relationship, we can become better at loving God and improve the dynamics of our relationship with Him. You can advance your relationship with the Lord to levels where you are deeper and stronger. Don’t be content with where you are. Don’t be satisfied with a one way street where the Lord reaches out to you while you do nothing in return. God is your portion and you must possess that relationship and make it your own by loving Jesus.
SCRIPTURE READING: Deuteronomy 11:11-15 but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. ‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled.’
DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear Lord, teach my heart to love you wholeheartedly. May I grow to loving You with everything that I have, Amen.
