LOVE REQUIRES TIME

You can tell what people love by observing what takes their time. Sportsmen love their sports as is demonstrated through the time they spend on that particular sport. I have seen golfers literary spend the whole day on the golf course. I am amazed by cricketers. They spend an entire week playing cricket. They start in the morning, take a tea break, continue with the game, take a lunch break, continue with the game, another tea break then call it day. They do this over five days. That is a lot of time but they are willing to do it because they love the game.

Loving Jesus means giving time to the things of God. Some people are happy to give God one hour once a week because they don’t have time. They then give hours to television, hours to entertainment, hours in the traffic jam, hours playing a sport and hours on the phone. We always make time for the things we love. If you really want to increase your love for the Lord and improve your relationship with the Lord, you must make time for God. Don’t be satisfied with the one hour on Sunday morning. Find time for God every day. Spend that time in fellowship with the saints, in prayer, in worship, study of the word and doing the things of God. Make time for Jesus!

SCRIPTURE READING: Exodus 33:11 So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Oh Lord, teach me to be diligent to You. May I learn to improve my relationship with You, through prayer and reading the word.
