Did you know that almost the entire generation that left Egypt didn’t make it to the Promised Land? How did it come to that? Did God deliver a whole nation from slavery just to watch almost an entire generation die in the wilderness? Certainly not!
You see, from the time Moses returned to Egypt, to the day Pharaoh let Israel go, God was supernaturally fighting Israel’s battles. Yet when the time came for Israel to possess the Promised Land, they lost sight of God’s previous interventions, on their behalf. Instead of seeing themselves defeating the Canaanites, by the power of God, they saw themselves as grasshoppers; weaklings who couldn’t defeat a strong army. In anger, God declared they wouldn’t see the Promised Land.
Don’t lose your testimony. Keep reminding yourself of all the things God keeps doing for you. This is how you keep your God-given testimony.
SCRIPTURE READING: Numbers 14: 22-23 Because all those men who have seen My glory and My [miraculous] signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tested and proved Me these ten times and have not heeded My voice, Surely they shall not see the land which I swore to give to their fathers; nor shall any who provoked (spurned, despised) Me see it.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I pray that I never lose sight of all you do for me. May I always remember every testimony you have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
