Daily Devotion

Most times I like to get to the office before everyone does. Those early morning hours do me good as the silence gives me the tranquillity to pray and hear from God. Anyway, one morning I decided to get to the office by five in the morning. I got a warm cup of tea, grabbed my office bag and beat the traffic into town. I went all the way to the office door then got stuck. In my morning rush, I forgot to carry the keys to the door. I was at the right door, with the right motive and the right inspiration but couldn’t get in because I didn’t have the key. I was literary stuck at the right door because I had no keys.

The same is true about life in the Kingdom of God. There are keys that restrict access to certain doors and gaining access into those places means you must have keys. The only way you are getting into a closed door without keys is if you break down the door. We all know the owner doesn’t break down the door. He opens it up with the keys. Being at the right door is not enough. You must have keys to the door. It is not enough to find the door. You must also come with the keys to that door. The kingdom of God has many doors and each of those doors has particular keys to grant access to all that approach. That door will not open without the correct key. Get the keys and you will have unlimited access to places that many simply dream about.

SCRIPTURE READING Matthew 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

DEVOTION PRAYER: Father thank you that I am blessed with the keys to the kingdom. Thank you for unlimited access. Doors open before me because I have the keys. Amen.
