On good Friday Jesus was beaten, crucified and murdered on the cross of Calvary with all the world watching. Everyone had done everything and said everything so after His burial, everyone went silent including God. We don’t hear from God until the third day when Jesus kicked the end out of the grave as God gloriously raised him from the dead. Then we find out that the days of silence were of significant activity as Jesus descended to hell and set captives free. Silence as usual proved that there was work going on behind the scene.
The times when God seems silent and unresponsive should remind you that He is at work behind the scene. You will not see everything going on and you certainly can’t fathom everything God is doing. Just rest assured, God is working in your silent moments and you will soon see His good grace accomplish much on your behalf.
SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 68:18 Colossians 2:14-15 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Oh Lord, I know that You are at work in these silent moments in Jesus name, Amen.
