The voice of God speaks to many today as a small, tender and gentle voice. He is so tender that many don’t even hear Him. The key to hearing this small voice of God is learning to mute all other voices even when they are blaring loudly. It means tuning your mind off so you can hear with your spirit.
The many voices speaking and shouting today are all fighting for your attention. Every News Network, radio station, smart phone, billboard and device is speaking to you. But you must deliberately ignore them so you can hear the gentle voice of God.
SCRIPTURE READING: 1 Kings 19:11-13 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, [but] the LORD [was] not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, [but] the LORD [was] not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, [but] the LORD [was] not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard [it,] that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice [came] to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, tune my heart and ears to hear your voice in every aspect of my life.
