BUILDING LIMITS

Life has some obvious limitations that try to slow us down. It also has some that are not that obvious yet are very effective in slowing us down. As we talk about building, here are some key limitations that tend to slow us down.

It all starts and ends with Desire. Your desire and dreams are a driving force to building. If you don’t have clear passions and desires, you generally don’t pursue anything. You must want to build that dream so much that you dedicate whatever it takes to get the job done. Also you must find a way to make your desires a reality instead of just day dreaming. You are limited by your desire.

While building your dreams, you must create effective Partnerships which will propel you further. You can’t do everything yourself. You must have reliable partners who come a along side your dream and work to make it a reality. Your partnerships make it easy for your dreams to manifest. You are limited by the partners you have or don’t have.

And finally your build is limited to your vision. Long term vision and short term vision are very critical. If you can’t see the future you will generally not be able to create it. You must envision where you are going, where the world is going, what the future holds and how you can position yourself to make the most of it. The King in Luke 14:28-33 had envisioned war and conflict, then he realised he would lose that war. He then begun to envision a future of peace, prosperity and stability by partnering with his adversary. You are limited by your vision. Liberate yourself by envisioning great things in the future. See where the world is going and position yourself favorably.

SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 14:28-32 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has [enough] to finish [it]— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see [it] begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, teach me the to envision a future of peace and prosperity, amen.
