FAMILY MEANS PROGRESS

It is interesting to note that everyone alive today is a result of someone in the past. The human race has made incredible progress in technology, medicine, agriculture, and civilization in general, building on the past. There is just no way we could get to this age of artificial intelligence without all the cumulative progress through the centuries. If for some reason people decided to ignore everything inherited from the past, we would instantly be thrown back past the stone age. My point is that the family of humans has come this far because of being part of this family.

In a small way, God has placed you in family so you can build on the past as you forge a way forward for the next generation. Refusing to be part of the natural or spiritual family means going back to scratch. Understanding and leveraging your spiritual heritage positions you to go further and make incredible progress. Abandoning family may mean putting yourself in a long ditch with no way out. Remember family means progress!

SCRIPTURE READING: Genesis 17:1-9 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I [am] Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” And God said to Abraham: “As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.
