A tithe is ten percent of your income and increase and it belongs to God. This is not another fancy method of taking your cash to the church. God stipulates it in His word and our prosperity and well-doing depend on it. Adam and Eve where commanded to Tithe in the Garden of Eden. They could eat of every tree in the garden but were commanded to stay away from one tree because it belonged to God. Abraham was commanded to tithe all before the Old Covenant and He faithfully did so. Jesus communed the Tithe in the New Testament as well because it is a fundamental kingdom principle.

Your Tithe is your way of saying you surrender to God and acknowledge Him as your source and supply. It also means you are subject to the Kingdom of God and are doing life according to the ways of God. It is a clear indication that your entire life is in covenant with God. Walking with God demands that you surrender the most intimate and important areas of your life. The covenant with God is activated through our Tithe particularly in the area of prosperity.

God didn’t ask for 50% like many loan sharks. You can live happy and satisfied off 90%. I have heard of many men who have been faithful with the Tithe and God has blessed them over the years to incredible levels. Once such men is Rick Warren who became a millionaire and kept increasing his tithe until he got to the level of giving God 90% of his income. For a guy who started doing this while earning a few hundred dollars to the level of earning hundred of millions of dollars in a single year, you can’t out give God.

SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 11:42, Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, ” If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you [such] blessing That [there will] not [be room] enough [to receive it.]

DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, I understand that tithe is a kingdom principle that must remain fundamental in my life. I choose to always give unto God, amen
