We all go through things that test and check us out to the core. What we are truly made of is only revealed after it has been tested. Many years ago I needed to purchase a new vehicle, so I went to the deal in town and told them my needs and expectations for my next car. This guy showed me several catalogues and then asked me if I could give him four hours for us to test four vehicles. One week later, this guy took me testing all these machines on a four hour experience. We tested the comfort, speed, efficiency, control and everything we could possibly test. By the time I made my decision, it was clear what I was getting. He let me do pretty much everything to the cars so they could be proved beyond doubt.
Faith is not yet faith if it hasn’t been tested. The larger the faith, the larger the test. We hear people talk about their faith in regard to the awesome things they have got in life. Flashy cars, beautiful houses and nice suits. While all that is true, faith is not tested that way but in the challenges, the tears, the failures, the attacks and the hard times. The quality, depth and commitment of your faith is tested through the valleys of life, the darkness of the journey and the deserts before the oasis. Faith is tested and you must pass your tests. Every instructor gives their students a test every so often. God is a good instructor and He will ensure that you get tested as he sets you up for promotion.
SCRIPTURE READING: 1 Peter 1:3-8 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
DEVOTION PRAYER: I am honored to be taught by You, oh God. Your instructions have opened my eyes to the depth of faith and everyday I am growing exceedingly to the glory of your name, amen.
