We live in a world that comes up with all kinds of challenges on a daily basis, it is hard to keep track of them all. These challenges are just calls to action challenging us to do something specific. Having participated in some, I think they can be a cool way to get many individuals involved in a worthy cause. Having said that, let me remind us about the challenge we entered when we accepted Jesus as Lord and saviour of our lives. It is the Faith Challenge. We have committed ourselves to live by faith on a daily basis.
The Faith Challenge means that you daily live by faith and not by sight. It begins with keeping the word of God before your eyes and meditating on it daily without fail. Daily get into the Bible and hide the word of God in your heart. It will encourage, instruct, direct, empower and grow you to incredible heights. The things we meditate upon are the things we talk about. Your tongue is the trigger of your faith. The word of God in your heart will get you confessing the things of God which will release the power of your tongue to work in your situation. You then translate what you are meditating on into practical actions that correspond to that which you believe. This Faith without actions is dead. What you do is a result of what you believe. Get busy doing and showing forth the works of your faith. The Faith Challenge is word/speak/act. Let’s get to it.
SCRIPTURE READING: Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
DEVOTION PRAYER: Your word oh God instructs my life into the depth of truth and faith. My challenge is to speak and act your word in Jesus name, amen.
