THE NATURE OF FAITH

There are things in life that may seem insignificant when viewed from a distance but when closely looked at make a whole lot of a difference in life and matters that have to do with life. Faith is one of those elements that make a difference in lives of people. Contrary to how many have come to view faith as a dormant myth in the cosmic world, it is very tangible and practical. As a matter of fact the bible says according to Hebrews 11 that it is a substance of the things hoped for or the evidence of down what may not be seen with the natural eye. If anyone were to provide evidence in court of law it would have to be subjected to examination to prove that it can be relied on for the verdict of that temple of justice.

For anyone to have faith or trust they must have hope or an earnest expectation of something that is going to happen. This hope is usually based on either a promise given by the person expected to perform the good deed or the character of the person that gave the promise. If someone has let you down before the natural thing many times can be to take their next promise with a pinch of salt like the saying goes. Not so with God. God’s word and promises can be banked on. This is because of His nature. He looks out for His word to perform it. That’s why God’s word is vital when it comes to the walk of faith. Do you need or want God to do something in a particular area of your life? Get into His word and find scriptures that will show you what God says about that area of your life. Keep meditating on that Word. That’s how true biblical faith is developed.

SCRIPTURE READING: Numbers: 23.19 (NLT)- God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for your word and promises. Help me to grow my faith as I spend time in your word in Jesus Name, Amen
