TRIALS A PROCESS FOR GROWTH OF OUR FAITH

Often we find ourselves kicking back when we are in the midst of trials. Due to the discomfort, we can forget that God takes us into these seasons as part of His process of growing our faith. God’s word is the raw material for faith while trials are the process or crucible through which faith is strengthened. Just like any dish that is prepared, for it to come out as delicious as the chef wants it to be, it has to be subjected to a process. If anything is overdone, example the salt is abit too much it’s not good. On the other hand if it’s too little it won’t be as tasty as desired. If bread doesn’t go through the process it comes out half-baked. If it’s overcooked then it isn’t as tasty as it should be.

Trials are the process through which our faith is strengthened. When we understand that they are part of the process we are able to submit to the process. Secondly, the process is time bound or for a specific time period. Often the enemy wants us to think that we will forever be in the crucible or trials. This thinking causes us to look for shortcuts. When you find yourself in a season of trial submit to the process because it is time bound. Then ask God to give you the grace to go through victorious and wisdom as you go through the season. Remind yourself that the season is time bound, will come to an end and that you want to glean all you can from it.

SCRIPTURE READING: Hebrews 11:17-19 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Father God, Thank you for the seasons of trial that you keep taking me through. Grant me the wisdom to remember that they are time bound and let my faith soar higher as you work in my life in Jesus Name, Amen.
