Life is not a mad sprint to a quick finish line but a long marathon through destiny. It is not just about the destiny, the journey is equally important. While the fast cars, flashy lifestyle and mad dash all seem more appealing, their dangers have choked many destinies. Fast and furious more than usual ends up in a big crash and devastating fire. The energy you burn in trying to do life as a mad dash leaves you so depleted, you can’t live another day without the many drugs that enhance life.
Embrace the marathon runners attitude. Understand there is more coming ahead of you. Take your time and don’t burn yourself up in a single move. The journey is long and you can’t just crash out because you have had enough fun. Don’t set yourself up fo the short sprints alone. Go for the long game. By the grace of God you are going to be on the planet for a long while doing outstanding things for the Lord, so live life with that long term game plan. Marathon runners have figured out how to pace themselves. Instead of burning up all their energies in a single burst of brilliance, they prepare themselves for the long marathon and strategically use their resources to last the entire marathon and win. Pace yourself through life.
SCRIPTURE READING: Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned and saw under the sun that— The race [is] not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.
DEVOTION PRAYER: As the Bible clearly states that the race is not to the swift, I am confident that time and chance happen to us all, amen.
