There are days my kids wake up with a grateful attitude towards me. They do things around the house with joy and excitement. They serve me with smiles and talk about me like am some kind of king. I have learnt over the years that in such moments of being praised, they will soon follow all this thanksgiving with a request that I must do. The honest truth is, I have always given in to their requests if they are clothed with all this praise and thanksgiving. Thanksgiving warms the heart and opens it up to give. The same is true when it comes to God and serving Him with joy and gratitude. It opens His heart to release His many blessings upon us that are grateful.
Complaining, murmuring and bickering which is the opposite of thanksgiving closes the heart and every door that would otherwise have been opened. The Children of Israel were stuck in the wilderness because they were not grateful. They mastered the art of complaining and nagging that God just got fed up with them. We are talking about a God that is patient and long suffering. They complained so much that God decided to close the doors He had already opened. Instead of entering the promised land, that murmuring generation died in the wilderness.
Gratitude and thanksgiving will open amazing doors before you. People want to have positive individuals around them. Organisations promote those that are positive and thankful. Politicians surround themselves with people that speak their praises at all times. Every human being responds positively to those that are grateful and positive. Thanksgiving opens doors that no man can close!
