During challenging times or when we are up against the wall, we often look out for ways to get out of these awkward predicaments. We will think of who to call, talk to, where to reach out for a helping hand. These are viewed in natural terms as times when we prove who our real friends are. While it’s alright to reach out to our friends in times of trouble we all know that they are limited in terms of what they can do.
But we have a Heavenly Father who is not limited in potential, wisdom and resources. All He requires of us is to call upon His Name. It’s time to call upon the Lord in the morning, at noon, in the afternoon, evening and night time- basically any time and all the time. Why is this so? It’s because He has promised to answer those who call upon Him. Are you sick in your body? Call upon His Name. Are you confused and don’t know what to do? Call upon His Name. Are you wondering where your next pay check is going to come from? Call upon His Name.
SCRIPTURE READING: PSALMS: 116:1-4
I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, Thank you for the assurance you have given us that when we call upon your Name you will answer.
