The mustard tree is an amazing, enormous, ecosystem of a tree we can compare to a city. At its peak, the thing operates like megacity sustaining a diversity of life for hundreds of years. What is amazing is that it starts out as a little seed the size of a grain of sand. If you held that little seed in your hand then looked at what it was destined to become, you would never despise anything just because of its size.
New beginnings are never large, impressive or mega. They are always small, sometimes insignificant and always vulnerable. In that fragile state, God embeds the mega so at the end of the day God is in control of the process and the results.
Look at the small insignificant things God has started in your situation today and see them for what they truly are; the start of a mega thing that will surprise everyone in the near future. Don’t be moved by size, strength or power. Look for what God has planted inside your spirit and let it grow. Don’t kill that seed just because it is small. Nurture and grow the seed of God inside your spirit to the place where it is self sustaining. Start with God even if it means starting small. It is only a matter of time, mega is loading.
SCRIPTURE READING: Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, my eyes perceive the insignificant things You’ve started in my life. I am grateful for I grow in them daily to the glory of your name, amen.
