Life is so dynamic with loads of things to consider as we go through the many seasons on the planet. It is therefore important for us to have a sense of priority as we go along the doing life. If you are not careful, you can easily go through one hundred years of living without purpose or achievement because you don’t have priorities.
Having gone through 2020, I am confident we were all moved to appreciate the power of priority. We were shown how to prioritise the things we do and carry ourselves about. We accepted the fact that some of the things we have always considered paramount are really not that important.
We must therefore learn to put first things first. We must learn to major in the majors and minor in the minors. We must deliberately ignore some of the things that seem to demand our attention but in reality are not that important. Your effectiveness, success and joy this year are going to ride on your putting first things first
SCRIPTURE READING: Matthew 22:16-21 And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men. Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me, [you] hypocrites? Show Me the tax money.” So they brought Him a denarius. And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription [is] this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, teach me to prioritise. May my life have purpose and achievement in all that I do in your glorious name, amen.
