FIRST THINGS FIRST, MEANS GIVING GOD YOUR TITHE

We all make good on our financial obligations. We pay rent, taxes, school fees, medical bills, food bills and everything else that makes part of our modern financial lives. There is just no way a responsible citizen tries to get all the services of modern society without paying the associated bills. If you tried to get a good dinner then walk out without making the payment you will be in serious trouble.

First things First means we learn that we must give God ten percent of all our income on a regular basis. This means that all the financial resources that come your way must be subject to this principle of ten percent belonging to God. God has given you life and so much more so you can go about your life breathing, surviving and thriving. Your tithe is the tax, for a lack of a better word, that declares to God that you are glad to be part of His kingdom and you subject yourself to His ways all the time. Before you go off enjoying your hard earned cash, give God ten percent to declare by faith that you are subjecting yourself to His kingdom and His eternal blessings.  You will be surprised how far your ninety percent goes after you have given God what belongs to Him. The economy you subject yourself to will work for you. Let the economy of heaven be your portion as you enact and release in your life the power of your God through your tithe

SCRIPTURE READING: Malachi 3:7-12 Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances And have not kept [them.] Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says the LORD of hosts. ” But you said, ‘ In what way shall we return?’ ” Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘ In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, [Even] this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, ” If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you [such] blessing That [there will] not [be room] enough [to receive it.] ” And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the LORD of hosts; And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the LORD of hosts.
