God placed all human beings on the planet in a family and community. The obvious reason is that we can’t do life alone. As social beings, God has positioned us to interact, socialise and grow together. The world without all its people would be a terrible shell. While we are looking at making our lives better and understanding the price that must be paid, we must sow seed in our networks of family, friends, professionals and our community.
These networks are very important for your harvest at some point in the future your progress will depend on them. While you are busy doing your thing, someone in the above circle of influence has the keys to the doors you must enter. You can’t access those doors if they stay closed and they can’t be opened if your don’t nurture and sow into them. We must learn that God has made us co-dependent on each other and we must therefore value and sow into these relationships.
It’s interesting how we all know what everyone should be doing for us yet are oblivious to what we should be doing for everyone else. We are in a hurry to claim harvest from gardens we didn’t cultivate, sow, nurture or even consider important. You will not be given access to a harvest you didn’t participate in creating through your seed. You must therefore take that time to sow and grow your networks in this season so that at the right time you will gladly enjoy the harvest without any reservations.
SCRIPTURE READING: Matthew 13:31-32 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
DEVOTION PRAYER: My God, I choose to obey your word. Teach me to sow in my networks and community, amen.
