Divine appointments are those situations we must understand as inevitability set in motion by God and it’s only a matter of time for you to get there. The theological debate has gone on for centuries on the authenticity, practicality, interpretation and implementation of this mammoth thought. God setting certain inevitable things in motion. Some individuals feel empowered by this thought while others feel totally incapacitated by it. The different seasons of life present the idea of an inevitable march towards a certain destination and inevitable it is indeed. The sun will set every evening and rise every morning. Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, Napoleon or Hitler must all recon with this fact. Their death was also inevitable. Either on the battler field or retired at their summer palace, death comes to all men, it’s inevitable.
This is where things get exciting. Now that you know certain things are coming, you can choose where and how to meet them. You can choose how to survive them, learn from them, grow through them and leave an outstanding legacy of blessings and grace for those that come after you in this inevitable march called life. The fact that the rain will start in its due time, means you can make a difference by planting trees that will bless the planet and make it greener. The rain is inevitable but what you do is a variant. Your planning, reaction and counteractions are all in your hands. So here you are marching through life absolutely aware that certain things are coming your way. How have you prepared for them? What will your action be like? Yes, there are things you can’t avoid but by the grace of God you can work with them to become better and make his world better each day.
God will give you opportunities, it’s inevitable. Doors will open before you, people will come looking for you. Your talents, qualifications, connections and experiences will position you to be blessed. There is no running from the opportune divine appointments God has in store for you. God has set up seasons of grace and mercy with you in mind. You may feel insignificant but yes the creator of the universe has you at heart and mind. He has set this program in motion that will take you on an ever improving project from glory to glory. Yes there are bumps along the way as well, its all part of the story. The bumps make you stronger, better, wiser and great in every single way. Don’t you therefore worry about what you can’t change and focus on the things you can really impact. Your preparation, action and reactions to the inevitable.
SCRIPTURE READING: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (Amplified Bible) TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted, A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down and a time to build up, A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, A time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away, A time to rend and a time to sew, a time to keep silence and a time to speak, A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Dear God, I open my heart to the divine appointments ordained for me today, to the glory of your name, amen.
