Daily Devotion

When ever we understand the purpose of anything, the chances of maximizing it’s potential greatly increase. It has also been said if the purpose of something is not known abuse will be inevitable. Reminds me of the countless times people in developing economies dispose off manuals of gadgets or appliances they purchase only to look for them after they have damaged or messed them up. This is mainly due to lack of understanding of the purpose of these manuals. We must understand that God has a reason why He wants His people and His children to prosper. That purpose has nothing to do with selfish ambitions, greed or covetousness.

God doesn’t want you to prosper for the sake of just prospering. God wants us to prosper so that we carry the gospel to the lost that don’t know Him, support the work of spreading the gospel as well as meet the needs of the hurting and needy in our communities. It hard to preach the gospel to a hungry man, woman let alone a child. On the other hand it’s easy for that person to listen once their natural need has been addressed. When the church begins to fully comprehend the purpose of Kingdom Prosperity, it will walk more in the manifestation of the same. It’s not just about you or your needs being met it’s about God’s Kingdom being extended. But in the process of this, our needs are also met.

SCRIPTURE READING: Genesis 12: 1-3 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to understand the purpose of Kingdom Prosperity as I continue my walk with you in Jesus Name, Amen.
