When God pronounced His blessing upon Adam in the book of Genesis, He released an ability in Him to do well. We see Adam taking up roles such as naming plants and animals as well as managing the estate over which God had put him in charge. It seemed like whatever Adam touched prospered. Even after the fall God did not rescind His plan to cause man to thrive. We see this plan revamped through the life of Abraham down to their descendants Isaac, Jacob as well as their lineage. In foreign lands they still did well in whatever they set themselves to do. This went to great levels in the life of Isaac that even those who sent him away because he was doing well asked to sign an agreement with him. The common factor in all these people’s lives was the blessing of God that was operating in their lives. Our focus should be on ensuring that we attract God’s Blessing upon our lives as we walk with Him and obey His Word.
