Difficult seasons can really turn out to be stretching times as far as life is concerned. These are times when one has to stretch every dollar, penny or shilling. It’s like survival mode kicks in by instinct. Funny enough, the times of plenty can also turn out to be a time of testing. As much coming into a season of plenty may bring about a feeling of water being poured out on a dry and parched land, it can be a season of testing. While seasons of difficulty can bring about desperation even in our seeking God, seasons of plenty can also lead to apathy and lethargy if we don’t watch our hearts and attitudes. The blessings that God brings our way can turn out to become distractions from following and obeying Him. Prosperity reveals the state of our hearts and minds. Let’s condition our hearts and minds through meditation on His Word, in the place of prayer to always walk humbly before the Lord especially in the seasons of great prosperity.
SCRIPTURE READING: Deuteronomy 8: 2-4 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, Grant me the grace to remain true to you as I go through the seasons of testing even in the area of Kingdom Prosperity in Jesus Name, Amen
