Contrary to the common portrayal of God as mean and against His Children having fun, the Bible shows Him as a generous father. In Genesis, we see Him create a beautiful garden for Adam and Eve that had plenty of wonderful plants, animals as well as rivers with precious stones. In Exodus He blessed His people with precious metals through the Egyptian Economy. The stories are numerous but intended to show us or remind us that God is willing and able to supply our need but also wants us to enjoy His blessings. That’s why David talked about his cup running over. He also talked about God preparing a table for him in the presence of his enemies. Beloved, it’s ok to enjoy some. Yes there are times to fight, sacrifice, sow but there is also a time to enjoy. When that time or season comes, do the needful: enjoy God’s blessing.
SCRIPTURE READING: 1 Timothy 6: 17-19 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly Father, Teach me to discern the seasons that you lead me into of enjoying your blessing in Jesus Name Amen.
