A story is told of a lady who went shopping for a flowering plant to add to her incredible collection. After finding the perfect option, she went to the fellow farmer to negotiate the price and pay for it and as she did, she noticed there was something else sprouting up from the pot. Not only was she purchasing a new plant, but she was also getting a tree. A tiny little tree.
The lady went home and immediately planted the seemingly forgotten twig of a tree in her backyard. After 17 years of tender loving care, that same twig turned into a towering 40-foot tree.
The tree would have died if it hadn’t been planted into the soil for proper nourishment and strength. It is essential that as believers, we are planted in a place that will feed and nurture our soul. Similarly to the tree that needs fertile soil.
In Psalms 92 the psalmist refers to the righteous one planted in the house of the Lord as a steady, strong and firm tree
SCRIPTURE READING: Psalms 92:12 KJV The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
DEVOTION PRAYER: Heavenly father, help me be planted and nurtured in the house of the Lord Amen.
